While I get more organized on offering concrete cooking tips, folks looking for cook-at-home inspiration might want to read this post.
Seriously, stick with me till January, and that’s when I’ll start laying it all out.
In the meantime, pick up a food magazine (Cook’s Illustrated for the anal, Gourmet for the fantasists), or a copy of an early Jamie Oliver cookbook (his “2 glugs of olive oil” approach to measuring is exactly what you should be doing). Or read the Mark Bittman or Melissa Clark columns in the New York Times. Or poke around Cookstr for a recipe that appeals. Or watch a Robert Rodriguez video.
But most of all, figure out what you’re hungry for–listen to your gut. Then figure out how to cook it. And then tell me how it went!
